I think I'm a young 80 year old, only retired a few years ago. Not ready to be an old codger yet! I hope there is life to come for me. My wife died late 2019 leaving me a bit lost after some 50 years together. I suppose I've become a bit listless since then which is not the normal me at all. I'm finding this a little difficult but nothing ventured nothing gained, so here goes! Having worked (self-employed) until my mid 70s until I retired less than 5 years ago, I feel myself to be in my late 60s or early 70s so it came as a bit of a shock to realise that I had reached my 80th year. My main activity outside work for the last 20 odd years has been running and playing in my New Orleans style jazz band which has kept me young at heart. I would say that I have an outgoing, friendly and generous nature with a normally happy-go-lucky demeanor. Unfortunately, cartilage problems with my knees have prevented me from being as active as I would have liked and actually were the main reason why I retired. I seem to have that problem under control now and have taken to some gentle off road cycling to keep myself fit. Lost a couple of stone since the bike pic, and now clean shaven (most of the time!)
