Trying to write an introduction and don't know what to say. Yes, I'm way out of practice. Was happily married and my wife and I were both in the military. We retired from military life years ago. We were married for over 37 years. The last almost 10 years I was honored to be her medical advocate and caregiver while she battled cancer until she passed away. Our son is 35 years old with 5 kids of his own and lives on the other side of the state.
What I find interesting in a mate. I like educated or/and smart women. A woman does not need a degree to be smart. I've met plenty of people who were very smart and inquisitive who did not have a degree. A woman who likes science, math, and science fiction. For example, someone who knows the name of the first astronaut who walked on the moon. If you have any idea who Fred Haise is, or who Damocles was, or who wrote the Iliad and the Odyssey, please answer.
My days now are mainly spent flying because when I felt down, my sister reminded me, I've been a pilot most of my life. That's what I am. So I own a plane and fly when the weather is nice. But to spend time thinking and to relax I like to sail my 29ft sailboat. It's a wonderful and relaxing experience. Concerns float away as the canvas pulls tight and the lines gently creak in the wind.
I love to explore the world. My work has taken me to small islands as well as to other continents. Love to go swimming if I have someone with me, flying, sailing, hiking, skiing, and of course snuggling when it's cool or just sitting around enjoying someone else's company especially if it's over a glass of wine, next to a campfire, and-or under a zillion stars in the sky.
Now days, yes, am retired but still do part time work to keep my skills up in the IT field. Also do part time work for a Navy contractor writing software, designing and operating electronic equipment as needed.
