Desperately seeking you
A few more points about me. Ill be brutally frank so Im not wasting your time or my money
I was born during the Second World War in The Hague, Netherlands. Unfortunately, this will knock out a few potential suitors, but I will persist.
In the early 50s my dad decided to seek his fortune in the New World. Initially we were granted immigration status to Canada but at the last moment Pa changed his mind and opted to join his long time friend in Brisbane
In the meantime his friend had arranged rental accommodation in Eight Mile Plains on the southern extremities of the city as well as the possibility of a job
We arrived early December 1954 after a six week sea voyage The older I get the stronger my European roots become part of me. Im therefore not your typical Aussie
Another significant fact which will lose me potential girl friends, I have been married three times. The first and last were absolute disasters the second covered some of the happiest years of my life and I sincerely regret its failure to this day
While on the subject of disasters there are more to come. Despite genuine attempts I have failed to discover Faith and after years of claiming to be an agnostic I have finally come out as an atheist
The woes continue. Im not rich. I own a small 2 bedroom unit and a late model car but my sole income is the pension. Several attempts to win LOTTO have been unsuccessful
My health is ok except that I have Peripheral vascular disease which despite two major operations, persists. Consequently Im not very mobile and long romantic walks along the beach are just a memory worse than that I cannot maintain a strong erection for very long (sorry girls for giving too much information)_
Unfortunately I am an introvert and (unlike my sister) unlikely will never be the life of the party or the centre of attention. However, Im a good listener except when hearing a political tirade or some bore expounding his favourite myth.
But in my favour, I do love all animals, especially dogs. So if you dont like pooches strike me of your list of potentials
I also love kids of any age and my biggest regret is that Im childless. Guess I have left it too late to rectify that situation.
Finaly, If I could change one thing about myself, is that unfortunately I have this innate feeling that I am superior to many of my peers. I guess that makes me a snob although very few people would describe me as one
Dont know where I got it from, perhaps it may originate from my mothers side as my grandpa was (in todays money) a multimillionaire being the first person to own A car in the 1920s when he and his family 92 sons and 2 daughters) were living in Utrecht, Hollands fourth largest city.
My dad was a successful small business man in the late 40s and early 50s
I assume my parents always voted on the conservative side of politics. Remember, this was the beginning of the Cold War and voting Labour was, in their minds, tantamount to voting for the Communists Reds
I followed in their footsteps until the early 70s when Whitlam became PM. Although not a red hot Laborite. I havent voted for the Right since then
(Oops, I guess I lost at least 50 of the remaining readers who may have been slIghtly interested). Cest la Vie
